How it works

Start a video chat in 3 steps

Mingle is built to be instant. From opening the page to talking with someone new takes just a few seconds.

1. Allow your camera and microphone

When you open Mingle, your browser asks for permission to use your camera and microphone. This is what lets the other person see and hear you. Your stream is sent directly to your chat partner — Mingle does not record or store it.

2. Press start

Enter a display name, confirm you are 18 or older, and press start. Mingle immediately looks for another person who is online and ready, then opens a live, peer-to-peer video connection between the two of you. No dialing, no waiting rooms — usually under a few seconds.

3. Talk, or skip to the next person

Say hello and have a conversation. You can chat by video and audio, and use text chat alongside it. Not feeling it? Tap skip and you are instantly matched with someone new. There is no limit on how many people you can meet.

Staying safe

Every session has a one-tap report button. If someone breaks the community guidelines, report them and our safety team reviews it. Read our safety tips before you start, and never share personal details with strangers.

What you need

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox) on a phone, tablet, or computer.
  • A working camera and microphone.
  • An internet connection — WebRTC handles the rest.
